How to play, Chapter 14
Bulletin boards
In short
DRAKVOR also runs as a door game on bulletin boards with WebCarrier BBS, just like the board games of old. Everyone plays in the same world. Every board competes for fame against the others and against the web.
Playing on a bulletin board
A bulletin board is a meeting place you dial into with a terminal, these days usually over the internet. If a board running WebCarrier BBS offers the DRAKVOR door, you start the game from its menu. You do not need an account on this website: your hero belongs to your account on the board.
- You play with the same keys as in the browser. Wherever the game needs a value, the door asks you to type a line.
- Screens there have 23 lines; the last line belongs to your input.
- Q in the village takes you back to the board. Your hero stays where they are.
- The language follows the language of the board.
- The hall shows the name of your board next to your hero.
Which boards take part is listed on the Bulletin boards page.
The bulletin board contest
Every board collects fame for the current year, and the web counts as a team of its own. Every dragon kill by a hero brings their board 10 fame, and every 1,000 gold donated at the building site brings one. On top of that come the level-ups of the 10 heroes with the most level-ups that year. Villagers and banned accounts do not count. The contest starts again with the Burning Night, and the winning board goes into the chronicle.
